On display was the Basecamp camper conversion by Bengaluru-based Camper Dynamics, a modular setup that transforms the Hilux into a compact home on wheels.Designed for overlanding and long-distance travel, the Basecamp camper packs everything needed for life on the road, including a bed, kitchen, shower, work area and storage.Whether you're planning a weekend escape or an extended cross-country expedition, the setup allows you to cook, work, sleep and live comfortably without relying on hotels.A fully-equipped mobile homeThe Basecamp is a flatbed pop-up camper built around a complete aluminium frame with fire-retardant insulation. It features a queen-size bed with under-bed storage that also converts into seating, a kitchen cabinet with a sink and drawers, and a swivel table that doubles up as a workstation. For off-grid adventures, the camper comes equipped with a roof-mounted solar panel, ceiling-mounted LED lighting, indoor power sockets, waterproof outdoor power outlets and a portable solar inlet.Ventilation is handled by dual roof-mounted hatch fans, while multiple windows with privacy and mesh screens help keep the cabin airy.Water, shower and storageThe camper is designed to be self-sufficient with an 80-litre fresh water tank, marine-grade pump, fresh and grey water outlets and an outdoor shower connection. It also gets multiple storage compartments, pull-out drawers and dedicated cabinets for carrying camping essentials.Other standard equipment includes waterproof scratch-resistant flooring, exterior lighting, a fire extinguisher and a choice of ladder designs. Buyers can further personalise the setup with optional accessories such as a recoil awning, shower awning, indoor shower enclosure, additional solar panels, thermal insulation and exterior storage access.Toyota Hilux: Price and specificationsThe ninth-generation Toyota Hilux is based on Toyota's IMV platform and continues with the proven 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine producing 204bhp and 500Nm of torque.
