Toyota has teased the Glanza facelift ahead of its October 14 launch, previewing revised styling, potential feature upgrades and a new, more fuel-efficient petrol engine.Toyota Glanza facelift will be launched on October 14.New Delhi,Oct 12, 2026 14:59 ISTToyota has released the first teaser of the updated Glanza, previewing styling revisions to the premium hatchback ahead of its launch on October 14. The upcoming facelift is expected to bring a refreshed front-end design, a revised feature list and a more fuel-efficient petrol engine, drawing heavily from the updates expected for its Maruti Suzuki Baleno sibling.Toyota Glanza facelift: Exterior changes previewedThe teaser offers a partial look at the Glanza’s redesigned front fascia, with the most prominent change being a larger grille featuring honeycomb detailing and chrome accents. Toyota has also repositioned its emblem onto the body-coloured strip above the grille, while a broad chrome garnish runs across the front, connecting the headlamp areas visually. The front fog lamps have been redesigned as well, adding to the revised appearance. The headlamps and LED daytime running lamps are expected to retain their existing design, while the rear styling is likely to remain largely unchanged. Revised 16-inch alloy wheels could be among the other exterior updates.More features expected inside the cabinThe facelifted Glanza is expected to retain the current model’s overall dashboard layout, with the possibility of additional comfort and convenience features. These could include ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with integrated cooling provisions and an upgraded Clarion audio system. Toyota could also introduce an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) package, which would represent a notable addition to the hatchback’s safety equipment. However, the final feature list and equipment distribution across variants will be confirmed at launch.Toyota Glanza facelift could get a new 1.2-litre engineOne of the more significant anticipated changes is under the bonnet. The updated Glanza is expected to adopt Maruti Suzuki’s Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the existing K12N four-cylinder unit. In the Baleno, the Z12E engine develops 83bhp and 112Nm of torque. These figures are marginally lower than the outgoing Glanza’s claimed 90bhp and 113Nm, but the newer engine is expected to deliver improved fuel efficiency.A factory-fitted CNG option is also likely to continue, with the engine expected to produce 70bhp and 102Nm in this configuration. The current petrol model is offered with a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT, while the CNG version is paired with a manual transmission. Toyota is expected to retain these options, although an AMT-equipped CNG variant remains a possibility.Toyota Glanza facelift: Price and rivalsThe facelift could bring a revision to the Glanza’s pricing alongside the additional equipment and mechanical updates. The current model is priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).Once launched, the updated Glanza will continue to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz in India’s premium hatchback segment. More details, including the variant-wise specifications, feature list and prices, are expected to be announced on October 14.Subscribe to Auto Today Magazine - Ends
