THIRTEEN people have been killed after a tourist plane plunged into a field in Peru while flying over the world-famous Nazca Lines. It had taken off from Pisco airport for a sightseeing flight over the Nazca Lines – ancient geoglyphs carved into the desert which can only be fully appreciated from the air. The aircraft which departed from the city of Ica belonged to local Peruvian airline Aerodiana, according to authorities. The cause of the catastrophic crash remains unknown. Local authorities said an investigation will be launched into the deadly disaster.
