TOMMY FLEETWOOD returns to the scene of his biggest individual triumph so far as he tees off as the defending champion at this week’s $40million Tour Championship. Not many people saw Fleetwood’s first PGA Tour victory coming at East Lake in Atlanta last year. And it would probably be even more of a shock if he manages to go back-top-back after an indifferent run of form recently. Fleetwood’s odds reflect that. You can get 20-1 – and maybe better than that if you wait, as he is on the drift. We all love Tommy, but not this week! Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! You know who tops the market. Scottie Scheffler is the 7-2 favourite, but the viral complaint he was battling at the BMW last week usually takes about ten days to clear up. And his form at East Lake is good, but not great. Rory McIlroy loves the place. He is a three-time winner here, and his much-improved performance to finish third at the BMW means the world No 2 – on offer at 17-2 – is the man to beat. But there were still a few shortcomings in his game in Memphis last week, so I’m reluctant to support him at less than double figure odds. Xander Schauffele is also an East lake specialist, and at a best priced 11-1 he just about falls into that double figure category. He is a two time winner in Atlanta, and has never finished worse than T7 in eight trips. So the X-man is the first man on the shortlist. Wyndham Clark did us a big favour at 28-1 last week, and it is tempting to stick with him. But it is notoriously difficult to win back-to-back FedEx Cup play off events, and we might just have struck at the right time. Chris Gotterup, another of the game’s monster hitters, struggled for accuracy last week. But his short game helped him rescue a share of fourth. That is not a quality usually associated with Gotterup. But if he can hit it a bit straighter and continue his improvement around the greens, his 22-1 quote could look pretty generous. Russell Henley is not a long hitter. But the Georgia golfer’s wealth of local knowledge has helped him to buck the trend in Atlanta. He has produced rounds of 62 and 61 over this 7,400 yards-plus beast in the past two years, on his way to finishing fourth and T2. So at an easily-available 28-1, he is another player who represents good value. And another non-bomber, Jacob Bridgeman, could prove best of the longshots – although with the field restricted to an elite 30 players, there are no crazy prices on offer. Bridgeman’s superpower is his putting. It helped him to another top ten finish last week. At 50-1, he could reward each way backers. British Masters 2026 betting tips Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton is clearly the standout performer at British Masters. It is no surprise to see him installed as a clear favourite to triumph at the Belfry. But Hatton was a big disappointment at last week’s LIV Indianapolis event, finishing in a share of 27th place. So good luck if you are prepared to take the 12-1 on offer. Keita Nakajima has been knocking on the door recently. His share of fourth in the Nexo last week showed his eye-catching third place at the Scottish Open was no fluke. So his 20-1 quote looks fair. Matthew Jordan looked like giving us another success in the Nexo, before fading in the final round. At 40-1, this is no time to desert the in-form Englishman. Jacob Skov Olesen is also worth another look at 40-1. His share of 17th last week did not really reflect how well he played. Andy Sullivan, who has shown an ability to go low at the Belfry, deserves to be considered at the same price. Marcel Schneider, a respectable sixth in better company at the Corales a couple of starts back, represents the each way value at 150-1 and better.
