Tottenham working on shock deal for Tosin Adarabioyo in first transfer between Spurs and Chelsea in 17 YEARS

TOTTENHAM are working on a shock late deal for Tosin Adarabioyo from rivals Chelsea – in case wantaway Kevin Danso leaves. It would be the first transfer directly involving a senior first-team player between the two clubs for 17 years. Tosin, 28, has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and is free to leave after being left out of all three of the matchday squads so far this season by boss Xabi Alonso. Spurs are hunting around late in the window for a new centre-back after Danso asked to leave. The Austrian international, 27, is worried about game-time having not started any games so far this season and wants to be a regular starter. Sunderland had a loan bid rejected last week for Danso but are still in talks with Spurs over a possible late deal. Danso leaving would not only cause boss Roberto De Zerbi a headache because it would leave no obvious back-up on the right-side of defence behind Jan Paul van Hecke. But Danso is also a Premier League home-grown player, having come through at Reading and MK Dons.
