Phillips has quietly racked up a tonne of games in England‘s second tier during back-to-back loan spells with Stoke, following another temporary spell at Plymouth. But with so many centre-backs at Roberto De Zerbi‘s disposal, Spurs have decided to cash in on the youngster, whom they signed from Blackburn for around £2m in 2023. He follows fellow central defenders Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin, who have left for Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina respectively, out the door. De Zerbi has new signings Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi vying for a slot alongside Micky van de Ven, who recently signed a new five-year deal. The Italian boss also has Kevin Danso and Ben Davies as back-up.
