Took semester break, stayed close: Janhvi on Shikhar's support after Sridevi's death

Actor Janhvi Kapoor has shared a touching memory of how Shikhar Pahariya quietly made himself available to her after her mother, actor Sridevi, died in 2018. Speaking on Koffee With Karan 9, Janhvi revealed that Shikhar had returned to Mumbai from London and moved closer to her, in case she needed him during that difficult period.During the conversation, host Karan Johar recalled seeing Shikhar support Janhvi through her grief. The two were not officially dating at the time. When Karan asked whether she had always known that Shikhar was the person she would end up with, Janhvi spoke about a gesture she learnt about only much later."I think he was studying in London, he took like half a semester off. He came to Bombay and he used to stay in town with his dad then, and he moved to his, which I only found out much later, he moved to his friend’s house in Juhu for like a month. Not that I was seeing him every day or anything like that, but later on I just found out that he was like, no, in case she needs me, I just want to be around," she said.Janhvi's revelation offered a glimpse into the support she received while dealing with a personal loss. Sridevi died in Dubai on February 24, 2018, months before Janhvi made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak. Janhvi has spoken about her relationship with Shikhar on several occasions. In an earlier interview, she revealed that he had been part of her life since she was around 15 or 16. She has also spoken about their shared ambitions and the support they have offered each other over the years.The two have often been spotted together at public events and family gatherings.
