Tom Pelphrey Wins Supporting Emmy for ‘Task,’ Shouts Out ‘Very Pregnant’ Fiancée Kaley Cuoco: ‘Our Family Is the Crown Jewel of My Life’

Tom Pelphrey has won his first Emmy. The actor, who played Robbie Prendergrast on “Task” Season 1, took home the gold for best supporting actor in a drama series. In an impassioned speech, Pelphrey said, “I thank god for my life and my sobriety. I thank my family and my friends for all your love and support all these years, from Emmys to black box theaters and everything in between.” The actor thanked HBO executives and his co-stars, including “the beautiful Mark Ruffalo,” adding, “Thank you for this incredible role and this opportunity and your friendship. I’m so proud to be your friend.” Popular on Variety Finally, Pelphrey shouted out his fiancée, “Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco. “And to my favorite actor in this room, my love, my best friend, my partner, the very pregnant Kaley — I love you more than anything, and our family is the crown jewel of my life.” Mentioning their first daughter, as well as their unborn daughter on the way, Pelphrey said, “Matilda, daddy loves you. Baby girl, daddy loves you. Thank you. God bless.” Pelphrey beat out “The Pitt” stars Patrick Ball, Shawn Hatosy and Gerran Howell, as well as Billy Crudup (“The Morning Show”), Jack Lowden (“Slow Horses”) and Carlos-Manuel Vesga (“Pluribus”). He was nominated alongside co-star Mark Ruffalo (up for lead actor in a drama), while “Task” was nominated for four additional awards, including best writing and directing for a drama series. Pelphrey had previously been nominated for an Emmy in 2022 for his guest star turn as Ben Davis in “Ozark.”
