Even though Hardy's future with the Paramount+ drama has occasionally been in doubt over the past few months, with reports of conflict behind the scenes, the Venom star will indeed be back in his role as Harry Da Souza when MobLand season 2 premieres on September 18. The upcoming episodes will dig deeper into the question of how Harry has become ingrained as the fixer for the Harrigan crime family. But that won't be the end of Hardy's story. He will also be back for MobLand season 3, which was officially confirmed by Paramount earlier this month. It is perhaps an unsurprising outcome that all sides were able to come to terms for the sake of a show that has quietly emerged as one of the biggest hits on streaming. It is now getting a physical media release to match. MobLand: Season 1 is available to preorder on Amazon. The DVD will be released on September 8. As of now, it should be noted MobLand: Season 1 is only listed in DVD format. Blu-ray and 4K options are not available. There are no special features listed for the show's first-ever DVD drop. However, the cover art does come with a glossy finish. There is also an episode guide for potential new viewers of the crime saga executive produced by Guy Ritchie. After a summer dominated by conflicting headlines about Hardy's MobLand status, the recent news helps bring the focus back to the Harrigan family and Harry himself. Over the course of the first installment, which consists of ten episodes, Harry has to face how far he's willing to go as a fixer. It's a question that isn't always simple. By the end of MobLand season 1, in a tense moment, Harry is accidentally stabbed by his wife. It's not a planned moment. But the couple had been arguing frequently enough because of Harry's work for Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren) that it had begun to seep into Harry's personal life and potentially poison it. That's one of the threads that the show's return will have to pick up on, with a MobLand cast that also includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Jasmine Jobson, Mandeep Dhillon, Daniel Betts, Geoff Bell, Janet McTeer, Jordi Mollà, and Toby Jones. That ensemble will go even bigger in MobLand season 2, welcoming the likes of Johnny Flynn. It'll test the ability of the Harrigan twists and turns to hold and evolve. But perhaps a new physical media drop may convince some Hardy completists to catch up on the show that has already nabbed millions of viewers.
