Just back in April the pair released three little dress watches, and I was obsessed with them. I got one, wear it almost daily, and get compliments on it weekly. The release was so good I figured it would be a one-and-done for the pairing this summer.But wouldn’t you know it, they’ve gone and done it again.This collaboration is focused on a 1960s Marlin reproduction—a change of pace from the angular ’70s-style Lexington dress watch in the last batch. The Marlin has a modest 34mm case, midcentury sized, and this collab comes with three different dial options. First, there is a simple silver dial that’s a bit more business-y, conservative—very Don Draper climbing the corporate ladder in Mad Men. Then, there are two swerves: a blush pink (my favorite) and an aquamarine blue (my pick for a bestseller).Besides the dials, the watches all have the same details. The stainless steel mesh bracelets call up ideas of the midcentury Italian Riviera—dress watches that lean a little sporty, vacation watches. Roman numerals on the quarters, stick indices, and that slim bezel stay on-course with the old true midcentury versions. Then, the domed acrylic crystal and quartz movement make it an affordable, no-nonsense watch. That vintage size might make it tough for larger wrists, but if you can wear it, this is such a versatile little daily driver.For $200, I think this is an instant buy for anyone who has been looking for a little bit of flair, and anyone who likes that smaller vintage watch look. I don’t like to do a call to action in these sorts of stories, but the last collection sold out within days.
