Today’s Craig Melvin can barely keep his eyes open after he stays up all night for NYC’s biggest event

CRAIG Melvin’s very late night out has left him on the struggle bus Wednesday morning. The Today main anchor, 47, opened the 7 am hour opposite Savannah Guthrie with bleary eyes. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! “But it may have been worth it, we saw some amazing tennis!” Craig watched American Ben Shelton beat Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, advancing him to the semifinals on Friday. The match ended after 3:30 am. Craig and the hosts regularly arrive at the Today studios in NYC by 5 am. “First time we’re going to have a male in the finals since 2003,” Craig proudly said. It is unclear if Craig watched the specific match at home or at the Open, though he was spotted in the stands with his wife Lindsay Czarniak earlier in the evening. Savannah is also a massive tennis fan, and attended a US Open party during one of her weeks off in late August. The Today gang are all back from their summer breaks as they kick off the fall season.
