Actor Yami Gautam shared an emotional note after winning the National Film Award for Best Actress for Article 370. She called the honour the culmination of a 14-year journey marked by perseverance, resilience and an unwavering faith in her craft. The film also won Best Feature Film at the 72nd National Film Awards, making it a double celebration for the team.Sharing her thoughts on X, Yami reflected on the significance of the moment and how it reaffirmed her belief in staying committed to her work.“Every journey has a moment that reminds you why you never gave up. Today is that moment for me. Receiving the National Award for Article 370 is an honour I will cherish for the rest of my life (sic)," she wrote.Looking back on her career, the 37-year-old actor said the recognition was the result of years of dedication rather than a pursuit of awards. “For fourteen years, I have simply tried to stay true to my craft, work with honesty and let my performances speak for themselves. This honour feels like the culmination of a journey filled with hope, perseverance, resilience and an unwavering love for cinema. It is a dream I have carried in my heart for years and today, I receive it with immense gratitude and humility (sic)," she wrote.Yami also reflected on why Article 370 held a special place in her heart. Apart from portraying intelligence officer Zooni Haksar, she said the project was especially meaningful because it was backed by her home production. She shared that the film was never just another project for her but a story she deeply believed in, adding that every challenge, conversation and day on set was driven by a shared commitment to tell it with honesty and conviction.The actor also expressed gratitude to the National Award jury, director Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the cast, crew and audiences for their support for Article 370.
