Tim and Sally face new setback in Coronation Street spoiler video as murder story escalates | Freelance Soaps Reporter Published August 15, 2026 8:00pm To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video It never rains but it pours for the residents of Coronation Street, and Tim and Sally Metcalfe (Joe Duttine and Sally Dynevor) can certainly attest to that. What Tim thought would be a lovely reunion with his cousin, Richie (Nathan Sussex) as spiralled into a living nightmare for one of Weatherfield’s favourite couples after things got incredibly boozy and Richie ended up conking on the Metcalfe’s couch. Returning home to a furious wife, he soon find his backside kicked right back out of the front door he’d just walked through and slunk back to Tim’s gaff for another night on the chaise lounge. With Tim’s encouragement, he went home for a second time the following day, hoping to make things right with Rachel, though he’d left his wallet behind, wedged in the cushions of the sofa. Tim, being the absolute babe that he is, drove the wallet back to Richie’s house, but what he found is sure to haunt his nightmares for years to come: Richie splattered with blood and the dead body of his wife in the back room. Yeah, it’s been one hell of a week for our Sal’ and Tim! Lucy is hardly settling into the Metcalfe residence (Picture: Danielle Baguley/ITV) With her dad banged up and her mum the reason, Rachel and Richie’s daughter Lucy (Anya Dewin), a witness to the heinous crime, was initially placed into foster care, though her initial placement fell through. With a house already full of foster kids – the Michaelis brood – Sally wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about adding another child to their ranks, but when she noticed how much Tim was struggling with his emotions following his cousin’s brutal crime, she acquiesced. When Lucy arrived it became incredibly clear that the Metcalfe’s were ill-prepared to deal with the trauma of a young girl who’d just lost both parents in incredibly quick succession; she’s an emotional time-bomb and far more complex than any of the other kids they’ve taken in. That trauma became clear when Lucy showed just how terrifying her emotional explosiveness could be in a clash with acid-tongued Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) in Victoria Gardens, when a few scattered barbs and bitchy remarks exploded into Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) being cut. Next week sees Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) determined to bring the girls together. Lily tries to make amends with Lucy… (Picture: ITV) …after their vicious clash in Victoria Gardens (Picture: ITV) Despite a positive lunch in which Lily hands Lucy a hand-written and heartfelt apology, though, Lucy remains desperate to see or speak to her dad. She becomes further incensed at the lack of contact when she learns that Joanie and Shanice (Savanna Pennington and Molly Kilduff) will be visiting their mum, Lou Michaelis (Farrel Heggerty) in prison. When Tim and Sally inform Lucy that they’ll have to wait from guidance on social services as it pertains to when and through what means she can interact with her dad, it’s a further blow to the traumatised teenager, who viciously lashes out at Tim. After their clash, Lucy storms back to her bedroom, incapable of dealing with what’s transpiring and Sally and Tim are forced to deal with the fact that they could well have bitten off entirely more than they can chew when it comes to Lucy and her emotional state.
