Tigers four-star commit Chris Harris Jr. joins The MizzouToday Show

On the latest episode of The MizzouToday Show, Missouri football commit Chris Harris Jr. joined the program to detail his decision to pledge to the Tigers as well as discuss sharing a name with a Kansas legend and the impact of his track speed in the 2027 class. The four-star wide receiver also told the story behind committing to Missouri the same day as four-star tight end Jack Brown. The two in-state products never planned to pledge to the Tigers in a three-hour span, but it marked an important day in the current recruiting cycle. “I had talked to the coaches the night before and committed,” Harris said. “I wanted to announce mine after school (2:30 p.m.), so I could respond to everybody and get responses from everybody because the internet’s bad in there. Hayes was like, ‘I got a surprise for you,’ and then he sent me Jack’s commitment. I was like, ‘Whoa!’” The MizzouToday Show: Spotify Apple Podcasts A Lee’s Summit (Mo.) West athlete, Harris noted no longer being mistaken for the son of former Kansas and NFL cornerback Chris Harris Jr. Jayhawks fans, though, asked him for autographs and pictures during an unofficial visit this past September. “It doesn’t really happen anywhere else except KU,” the Missouri pledge said. “It was more my dad who had to go through the problems. Because the older one is Chris Harris Jr., it wouldn’t make sense for us to have the same name. They would just bombard him with questions, and it just wasn’t him.”
