Three Israelis arrested for transporting Palestinians accused of illegally entering country

ByALON HACHMONAUGUST 8, 2026 03:09Three Israelis were arrested on suspicion of transporting Palestinians accused of entering the country illegally in separate incidents over the past week, along with the 24 accused Palestinians.In the first incident, officers from the Binyamin police station stopped an Israeli minibus on Highway 1 as it was traveling toward central Israel. A search of the vehicle found 16 Palestinians from Tulkarm who allegedly did not have permits to enter Israel.The driver, a Kafr Aqab resident in his 40s, was arrested along with the passengers. Police seized the minibus, which was allegedly used to commit the offense, for possible administrative proceedings.In a separate operation on Highway 443, officers from the Modi'in Illit police station arrested a Beersheba woman in her 40s on suspicion of transporting Palestinians who were allegedly in Israel illegally. (credit: REUTERS/RANEEN SAWAFTA)Additional Beersheba woman arrestedThe following morning, police arrested another Beersheba woman, this time in her 30s, after finding four additional Palestinians concealed inside her vehicle on Highway 443.In both Highway 443 incidents, police seized the vehicles allegedly used to transport the Palestinians.
