Thousands of crisp packets are urgently recalled in UK over dangerous health risk

A POPULAR crisp flavour has been urgently recalled over a potential risk to health. Customers have been urged “not to consume” the product. The crisps had been sold in Home Bargains Credit: Penpak S. Lay‘s Sour Cream & Dill crisps have been recalled following the presence of undeclared allergens. The crisps contained milk and wheat products which were not mentioned on the label, potentially posing a severe health risk to those with an allergy or intolerance to these ingredients. The FSA said: “The product contains milk and wheat (gluten), making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease.” The product was sold in Home Bargains stores and includes batches with the Best Before dates up to and including October 31 2026. Shoppers have been urged not to eat the product, and instead will be able to return the product to stores for a full refund. Customers can also contact the Home Bargains support team for further information. The FSA has also advised ASR Solutions Ltd to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. Home Bargains added that it apologised for any “inconvenience caused”.
