This Nike x Lego Collab Is a Must-Have for Sneakerheads, Collectors, and Everyone In Between

2 min readLego just dropped an Air Force 1 set, and it’s peak.It’s a 1,093-piece set that combines Nike’s signature shoe with a space exploration element.The set is retailing for just $100 on Lego’s site.A new version of Nike’s legendary Air Force 1 shoe is now available, and not just in a new colorway. Lego is once again venturing into the shoe game, this time in a collaboration with Nike. We wear a lot of boots around these parts, but sneakerheads will love its latest concoction—a replica Air Force 1 shoe doubling as a rocket blasting off into space. Cue the 2001: A Space Odyssey theme.This set is a little bit of a departure from the Lego deals we usually cover on PopMech, but we couldn’t resist. It’s also the perfect pseudo-scientific crossover—sneakers and space. The 1,093-piece set features the classic shoe silhouette taking off, jets and all. The shoe itself features metallic accents that give off serious space station vibes. The brick-built swoosh is also interchangeable; you can swap between the subdued metallic and a more vibrant red/orange that matches the shoe’s jet color.The classic shoe isn’t the lone highlight. No Lego set is complete without a minifigure, and Lego manages to shoehorn one in, pun very much intended. There’s a little astronaut palming a basketball for a one-handed slam. He sits atop what appears to be a springboard of sorts, but we’d like to think a lack of gravity played a bit of a factor here. He’s getting some pretty serious hangtime. Of course, he’s not just dunking into the abyss—there’s a mini basketball hoop involved. The Jordan-inspired astronaut and hoop sit atop a huge “AF1” sign, slanted diagonally in the same vein as the launching shoe.In short, this display piece is perfect for sneakerheads, space exploration enthusiasts, and the middle portion of whatever Venn diagram that is. It’s an out-of-the-box idea, sure, but Nike and Lego are two of the most iconic brands out there, making it a collector’s dream come true.
