The Made-in-India SUV is exported to nearly 90 countries, including Japan, and has become the fastest Indian SUV to reach the 2 lakh export mark.Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Fronx has crossed 2 lakh exports from India in under 38 months, making it the fastest SUV from the country to achieve the milestone.Exports of the Fronx began in June 2023, with the SUV reaching its first 1 lakh exports in less than 25 months. The model then added another 1 lakh units in around 13 months, highlighting the growing demand for the Made-in-India SUV in international markets.Manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, the Fronx is currently exported to nearly 90 countries, including Japan. The SUV has also been India’s highest-exported passenger vehicle since FY2024-25, according to the automaker.“Fronx has been a key contributor to Maruti Suzuki’s success in exports. Since FY 24-25, it has been India's No. 1 exported passenger vehicle and is now shipped to nearly 90 countries,” said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India. He added that the faster pace at which the SUV reached its second lakh of exports underlines its growing international demand. Maruti Suzuki currently exports 17 models to nearly 120 countries and has retained its position as India’s largest passenger vehicle exporter for five consecutive years. The company accounted for more than 55% of India’s passenger vehicle exports in Q1 FY2026-27. Its top exported models during the quarter included the Fronx, Jimny 5-Door, e Vitara, Dzire and Baleno.The Fronx is offered in India with two petrol engine options. The 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT engine produces 89.73bhp and 113Nm and is available with a five-speed manual or five-speed AMT. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol Boosterjet engine develops 100bhp and 147.6Nm and can be paired with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.
