The drama’s themes, he says, are universal. “The story could be about anybody or anything. The influence of social media is everywhere, in urban and rural areas alike.”The founder of The Actors Lab drew inspiration from the intense relationship dramas and abstract plays he read as a theatre student, using social media to give these themes a contemporary lens. “What we consume online has seeped deep into our lives. It shapes our likes, dislikes and decisions, and we apply those choices even when there is no need.”Featuring just two actors, the production breaks from conventional theatre with a minimalist set, smart lighting, unusual props and bold colours. Popular Bollywood and Telugu songs play in the background, adding a musical layer to the drama.Platform for theatre Maheedar plays the husband | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement Originally from Visakhapatnam, Maheedhar moved to Hyderabad in 2018 to become an actor.
