This Game Boy Advance clone is a cheap Android handheld from AYANEO

The AYANEO KONKR Pocket Advance is a handheld game console with a design that’s heavily inspired by Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance, potentially making it a good fit for playing classic games designed for that console. But the AYANEO version is a modern device with a 3.5 inch, 960 x 640 pixel display, MediaTek Helio G90T processor, and Android-based operating system.It’s available for pre-order for $89 and up, with orders expected to begin shipping before the end of the month.The starting price is for an entry-level model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. AYANEO also plans to offer a 4GB+64GB configuration that costs $20 more. And both of those prices include a pre-order discount. The retail prices are expected to be $109 and $129, respectively… assuming AYANEO actually makes enough of these to actually have retail sales – this is the same company that spent weeks promoting a handheld called the Pocket MICRO 2, and the only produced around 100 units before eventually deciding to open orders for a second batch.As for the new model, its most interesting features are probably the physical design, which includes a 3:2 aspect ratio display that should handle classic GBA titles well, plus a body that looks like a Game Boy Advance with a few extra buttons that should come in handy when playing games designed for other systems.The handheld also features a 4,000 mAh battery, support for WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, a USB 2.0 Type-C port, microSD card reader, 3.5mm audio jack, a roto motor, and a gyroscope. There’s also a fan for active cooling.Powered by a MediaTek processor released in 2019, it’s unsurprising that the system ships with Android 12, which is about five major OS versions old at this point, but probably decent enough to handle emulation. There’s also a whole bunch of AYAYNEO-specific software including AYASpace, AYAHome, AYAWindow, and AYASetting.The KONKR Pocket Advance measures 151.3 x 82.4 x 22mm (5.96″ x 3.24″ x 0.86″) and weighs 224 grams (7.9 ounces).
