I’ve tried taking supplements, cutting down on screen time before bed, and changing out my sheets to the softest and most lightweight ones I could find. I’ve even been to a sleep specialist. And while some of these things have helped me out a bit, it’s still pretty rare for me to fall asleep within an hour of getting into bed, and I almost never sleep through the whole night without waking up a few times.I’ve tried white noise machines in the past, but I never found one that I truly stuck with. That changed, however, when Snooz sent me its new Breez 2 bedroom fan and white noise machine. I was immediately intrigued and excited to try it out, since my boyfriend swears by his Snooz original white noise machine—he says it’s the only thing that helps him sleep in his first-floor, street-facing apartment in midtown New York City. Plus, I’d just put my AC unit in storage for the fall and winter and desperately needed some airflow in my bedroom, so I thought, why not give it a shot?Dimensions11.25"L X 7"D X 11.75"HWeight5.8 lbFan Speeds10Volume Levels10Long story short: I’m really glad I decided to try it out, and I’ve been using it every night for the past few weeks. What makes this different from your typical white noise machine is that you can separately control Breez 2’s fan and sound, so you can use both at the same time or just one or the other depending on your needs. For example, I don’t need the white noise on during the day, but I keep the fan on to have a nice breeze going. At night, I’ve been using both, but once it starts to get a bit colder, I may just need the white noise without the fan.And speaking of the fan, I’ve been quite pleasantly surprised with its power, considering it takes up less than a square foot. This thing actually blasts a breeze of cold air across my whole room (granted, I have a shoebox bedroom in a flexed Manhattan apartment), not just a little puff of air one foot in front of the fan. And without the white noise on, the fan makes a smooth whirring sound that’s not too loud, so if you do want a pretty quiet space, you can certainly achieve that. When it comes to the controls, Breez 2 really sets itself apart from your typical fan or sound machine, thanks to the Bluetooth-connected app on my phone that makes it possible for me to adjust it from wherever I am (within Bluetooth connectivity, of course)—which means I can control it while I’m in bed and don’t have to get up in the middle of the night just to change the settings. Too hot? I can turn the fan up while I’m under the covers. Too loud? I can turn the volume down without even sitting up.And if I really don’t want to do any work and let Breez 2 handle everything, there’s even an auto mode in which it detects the temperature of your room and adjusts the fan accordingly so it never gets too hot or cold. All you have to do is set a target temperature, and the fan will turn higher or lower to achieve that temperature.I’ve also been making use of the timer feature and setting Breez 2 to turn off after two hours, so I don’t waste electricity while I’m asleep. The only issue here is that you can’t set a timer for just the fan or the white noise; it turns off the device altogether, so if I do want the fan running all night, I just have to keep the sound on, too. However, you can use the schedule feature to set a schedule for the fan and white noise ahead of time, so if you know you go to bed and wake up at the same time on certain days, you can go ahead and set that up. My sleep schedule is a little too wonky for that (but perhaps fixing that would be a good idea . . .).Finally, from an aesthetic standpoint, it has a nice, modern, minimalist design with a light wood stand and a white body—there’s a very Scandinavian style to it. The controls on the face of the fan react with a light touch and light up, so they can even be used as a calming night-light if you want (the brightness of which can be adjusted in the app). So yeah, Snooz has really thought of everything here.Watch Next Advertisement - Continue Reading BelowReaders Also ReadAdvertisement - Continue Reading BelowAdvertisement - Continue Reading Below
