It may be small, but it’s already drawing a big response. The 2027 Fiat Topolino is now on sale in the US: a street-legal, low-speed EV that starts under $15,000. Meet the 2027 Fiat Topolino EV With many dealers selling out of the first batch of 2026 models, the Fiat Topolino (which we already had a chance to test out) is back for 2027, bringing a new Open Air body style and color options. The Topolino is even smaller than the Fiat 500e, measuring just over 8 feet (8’3″) long. That’s slightly longer than the average golf cart, but it can be driven legally on the street. Federally classified as a motor vehicle, the Topolino is street-legal and can be driven on most public roads with a speed limit of 35 mph or less. While you won’t be taking it on the highway, it’s perfect for driving around neighborhoods and beach towns, golf communities, campgrounds, and more. 2027 Fiat Topolino Open Air (Source: Stellantis) Using a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery and an 8 hp electric motor, the Topolino can drive up to 46 miles on a single charge with a top speed of 25 mph. A full recharge using a standard outlet takes about five hours. The 2027 Fiat Topolino is now available at select US dealers, starting at $14,985, including the destination fee. You can choose from three different body styles: Topolino, Dolce Vita, and a new Open Air model. The new Open Air version has the Dolce Vita’s roll-back soft-top roof and asymmetrical full doors, like the standard Topolino. Fiat is offering a free LSV conversion kit, which includes a rearview mirror, a backup camera, and a pedestrian alert system to make it street legal. Unlike the initial batch of 2026 models, the 2027 Fiat Topolino will arrive at dealers as already street legal. Fiat is also offering complimentary home delivery for those who live within a 50-mile radius of the dealer. You can learn more about the Topolino or pre-order yours on Fiat’s website.
