There’s a Major Clue About the Fate of ‘Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro’ Season 2

Attention everyone wondering if Dancing With the Stars is going to bring back its spin-off, Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, for another season. Tentative...yes? Deadline reports that The Next Pro production is looking to move the show from Australia to Los Angeles for its second season, that the company has filed paperwork for a California tax credit, and that they’re in “Phase 2 of the application process.”Apparently, a second season hinges on this credit coming through, and production is waiting to put a budget together until they receive it. So...when will they find out? Per Deadline, it should be somewhere around November 16, but “sources cautioned that the show has not officially been renewed for a second season yet and there are several other factors that could impact its future.”Meanwhile, executive producer Conrad Green told TVLine he’s “totally open” to another season, saying, “I think it worked really well as a show, and people who love Dancing With the Stars got a whole new take and view on the show. It gave a lot of pleasure without cannibalizing the main show itself.”Assuming The Next Pro gets its tax credit and heads to Los Angeles, another professional dancer will presumably be joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars for season 36. Which also means a veteran pro might not be coming back (unless they plan to increase the number of contestants on the series)....Stay tuned!
