There’s a Behind-the-Scenes “Divide” Between the Coaches on ‘The Voice’

Season 30 of The Voice is incoming with veteran coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, who are being joined by newcomers Riley Green and Queen Latifah. And apparently there’s a “divide” between them behind the scenes.“The coaches all get along great this season. Everyone is supportive of each other,” a source tells The Sun. “That being said, there is a bit of a divide between the veteran coaches and the new coaches. Adam and Kelly have been doing this so long that it’s become part of their personality and become ingrained in their vocabulary. Whereas with Riley and Queen Latifah, they’re brand new to this.”The source notes that this is especially the case with Riley, since “it’s his first big Hollywood type of gig so it’s not that he’s bad at it but you can tell he’s more shy and hesitant.” They add, “He’s slowly finding his footing though.”NBC//Getty ImagesDespite the alleged “divide,” the source notes that everyone is getting along well and there’s no drama. Though, this comes amid an insider reporting a couple months ago that Riley is having “a harder time adjusting” and “production is nervous about how he’ll be perceived, if America will enjoy him as much as the other coaches who are bigger household names.” Apparently, he’s “quiet and more timid,” but the show plans to bring him back for season 31, so he must be doing well despite this being his first gig!Reminder: The Voice premieres tonight, September 21, at 8 p.m. on NBC and will stream the next day on Peacock.
