At the time, the boy – referred to as John Doe in the claim – was serving two years in Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall, California , where Drott was his therapist. The claim said: “During the two years which Doe was incarcerated at the juvenile Hall, Drotts abused her position as his therapist to establish an inappropriate emotional connection with DOE, ‘grooming’ him with the objective of sexual abuse.” Then following his release, he was raped by Drott between April 1 and July 14, prosecutors allege. The victims family said: “We trusted this professional with our son’s healing and well-being, and that trust was fundamentally shattered. “Our focus now is entirely on our son’s recovery and protection.” Drott was arrested by Concord Police on July 14, after cops received a tip from a supervisor at the probation department, prosecutors said. Most read in The Sun Drott has since been released, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s office. The case has been referred to the District Attorney pending a charging decision. The boy’s family has filed a separate civil case against the county over the matter. Official charges filed on behalf of the family against Drott include: Two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, two counts of oral copulation of a person under 18 years of age, one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sending harmful matter to a minor and one count of possession of child or youth pornography. An arraignment date for Drott will be set, where she will hear the charges against her. If she enters a plea of not guilty, the next phase is to set a preliminary hearing of the evidence before the case can proceed to a trial. The boy’s mother said the family came forward to protect other victims of abuse. She said: “We are speaking out to ensure that no other family has to endure this pain, and to encourage anyone else who may have been harmed to find the strength to come forward.” Comment now
