Theo James plays smooth criminal Eddie Halstead on The Gentlemen(Picture: Netflix) Theo James was reportedly left ‘totally bemused’ when a real-life brawl erupted on the set of The Gentlemen. The Guy Ritchie helmed Netflix series recently returned for its second series, starring Theo as aristocratic gangster Eddie Halstead. A spin-off of the 2019 film of the same name, it found acclaim for Theo’s smooth performance, and the raucous blend of comedy, action and gangster thrills. This was enough to secure a second series, which saw Eddie and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) attempt to expand their criminal empire. The Gentlemen is already confirmed to be returning for a third outing, with shooting already having begun. However, news has broken of a bit of rough-and-tumble on set which left lips busted and its star looking on in a state of bafflement. Describing the situation as ‘barmy,’ the tabloid’s source went on to say that the two men were separated, with one having obtained a cut lip in the scuffle. The TV insider added: ‘Theo was totally bemused by the entire thing. They are used to violent scenes but it is all acting. ‘No one had expected a bust-up before the cameras started rolling.’ Maya Jama has joined the cast as Aisha (Picture: Shutterstock) Sharing news of the show’s third series, creator Guy Ritchie said: ‘The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences carry weight. ‘A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.’ This season saw the debut of the mysterious fixer Aisha, played by Celebrity Traitors star Maya Jama. It’s expected that Aisha will return for the show’s third series, along with its existing cast members… plus a few exciting new additions. According to The Sun, Trainspotting and Once Upon A Time star Robert Carlyle will join the cast when it returns. One actor who won’t be among the line-up, however, is Meghan Markle, who was heavily rumoured to eb among the new additions. Vinnie Jones, who plays gamekeeper Geoff, has nixed rumours of Meghan Markle joining the cast (Picture: Getty Images) ‘Meghan though is now out of contention. There was a meeting but it’s been decided she won’t be part of the cast,’ a source claimed. Sharing his own thoughts on the rumours, star Vinnie Jones told the publication: ‘I think that’s dead and buried. We can honestly say now that it ain’t happening, and you’d be a bit of a knob to think the idea was still alive. ‘Plus it would be weird to see her cast in a sex scene — horrifically bad, given, ya know …’ Metro has contacted Netflix and Theo James’ representatives for comment on this story.
