It takes roughly 100–175 hours to complete absolutely everything, so there are bound to be quests that slip through the cracks. Game Checklists, a popular achievement hunting website with built-in progress trackers and leaderboards, conducted a study into just that, seeking to find the rarest quests in the game. They did so by analyzing progression data from 3,000 completionists, and by stripping the data of unfinished playthroughs for better accuracy. Top Four Most-Missed Quests In The Witcher 3 Through the study, Game Checklists found that the following quests were missed most by players: A Final Kindness (10.2%). Free Spirit (10.5%). An Unpaid Debt (11.1%). Reason of State (11.8%). It’s hardly surprising that so few people have completed A Final Kindness, considering that it requires Keira Metz to die either by skipping the Fyke Isle questline entirely or by sending her to Radovid instead of Kaer Morhen. Odds are, seeing as only 10.2% of the sample completed it (and that’s on a website dedicated to completionists), you will have missed the quest. So, for the uninitiated, it begins with Triss asking Geralt at Hierarch Square to recover Keira’s body so she can be given a proper burial. Geralt must deal with the guards, either by using Axii or killing them, allowing Tris to safely approach Keira. It's a short quest, but very easy to miss. Free Spirit, meanwhile, is a Skellige quest found on Snidhall Isle. You must first save a man called Ivar from an attacking warrior. If you fail and Ivar dies, the quest will be completely unavailable. An Unpaid Debt takes place after Geralt is imprisoned by Madman Lugos. Several days after accepting Simum Brambling’s help, you can find him again at the New Port Inn, where he asks Geralt to kill a man named Volund. Refuse, and the quest will fail. Finally, we have Reason of State, i.e. the assassination of Radovid. It might be an iconic quest, but it requires completing A Deadly Plot, Redania’s Most Wanted, and An Eye for an Eye, making it surprisingly missable. Top Three Rarest DLC Quests As for the rarest DLC quests in The Witcher 3, they are: The Perks of Being A Jailbird (5.6%). Burlap is the New Stripe (6.1%). What Lies Unseen? (8.3%). Burlap is the New Stripe is a main quest that can only be triggered if Syanna dies during the final confrontation, leading Duchess Anna Henrietta to sentence Geralt to prison in Toussaint, where you then get to experience his life behind bars. The Perks of Being A Jailbird must be done before Burlap is the new Stripe. Complete the latter, and it becomes impossible to start. While Geralt is in prison, you can interact with a brick wall to receive notes, which tell you that another inmate is looking for a hammer and chisel. Once these have been found, a week later, after being freed from prison, you can go back to the brick wall again to receive your reward. Lastly, we have What Lies Unseen?, a lead quest to one of Blood and Wine's endings that takes place after Geralt seeks out Orianna instead of following Damien to rescue Syanna. With a new Witcher 3 expansion underway for next year, now is the perfect time to start up a new playthrough and check out these missed quests.
