You could say it's 11 years in the making, because it technically is, but fans have been clamoring for a full remaster for ages. While fans are often split on how good the original version of The Witcher 3 looks sans remaster, there are now two options. In most markets, the remaster has fully replaced the original, but given how prolific the original was, you can find used console copies for as low as $5. If you're into the remaster, you're in luck. Now, with the advent of new quests, The Witcher 3: Remastered is going to get even more exciting. Now live on Nexus Mods, Witcher 3 Quests Extended (W3QE) Remastered adds 18 new playable quests. These range from quick errands to full-on adventures, and "wrap brand-new quests" around existing content to make them feel more seamlessly integrated. Here's a message from the creator: "It is important to understand what this mod does. There are many activities that exist in the Witcher 3. And although the activities often result in giving rewards and sometimes unique interactions and dialogue, they are not tracked in the journal and do not feature notifications to assist the player with completing them. Likewise, some of them are highly missable. What this mod does is turn these activities into quests by wrapping brand new (unique) quests around the activities. When the activity is triggered, this mod will open the quest and provide tracking via objectives, mappins, and new lore in the journal descriptions. This is meant to increase immersion and engagement for the player." For those who are curious (and since The Witcher 3 has a broad worldwide scope), here are the languages supported for Quests Extended: English Arabic Portuguese Simplified Chinese Czech German Spanish Central American Spanish French Hungarian Italian Japanese Korean Polish Russian Turkish Ukrainian Traditional Chinese Contributors translated all of these, except Japanese, Korean, and Turkish, which were handled through Google Translate. The majority of the quests are also retroactive, meaning you can install the mod at any time, and you'll get credit for what you've already done. This mod was made for the Remastered edition of the game (version 5.00 and above), so older versions won't work with the Quests Extended add-on. The creator also notes that for whatever reason, if you don't have the two DLCs installed, the mod might not work correctly. This should rarely come up, though, since the Remastered edition includes both currently released DLC packs for free. The mod is labeled as "DLC," so it shouldn't have major conflicts with other mods, aside from some issues with incompatibility nomenclature for potions and oils, which were altered in the popular W3EE Redux. If you're looking for more to do in The Witcher 3: Remastered and have already finished the story and its DLCs, look no further than this quest collection.
