Glenn and Maggie managed to find love and keep their romance alive through a literal apocalypse, cementing their relationship as an all-time fan favorite in The Walking Dead canon. From their first encounters at Hershel's farm in Season 2, Steven Yeun and Lauren Cohan brought a much-needed warmth to a series steeped in relentless brutality and death. As The Walking Dead became one of television's biggest shows, their relationship remained an emotional anchor, surviving through devastating loss over the years. Eventually marrying and preparing to start a family, Glenn and Maggie offered proof that a future was still possible, even after civilization had collapsed. Unfortunately, that hope was shattered by Glenn's infamous death in Season 7, which aired ten years ago now, in a moment that permanently changed Maggie's future and the franchise itself. Cohan eventually returned to lead the spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City, but sadly, Glenn's fate was sealed forever. Now, a decade after his heartbreaking farewell, the beloved character is officially reuniting with Maggie in a surprising new franchise release. Glenn and Maggie are officially back together in The Walking Dead: Aftermath, giving fans an unexpected reunion nearly a decade after Glenn's devastating death in the original series. The officially licensed game, developed by Swift Games and published by Ares Interactive in partnership with AMC, brings both characters back as playable survivors alongside other familiar faces from the franchise. Originally released in July, Aftermath has gradually expanded its roster over the past few months, with Maggie and Glenn joining the action through subsequent updates. Their return doesn't undo Glenn's death or establish a new storyline for the couple, but it does allow players to recruit both characters and bring them back into the same group of survivors—arguably the closest thing we'll ever get to a proper reunion. Ares Interactive Inc. Better still, Glenn and Maggie have their own distinct weapons, abilities, and combat styles. Glenn is classified as an "Epic Acid" survivor specializing in shotguns, wielding a tactical shotgun and throwing knives to take out enemies. He focuses on attack speed, positioning, and Acid damage, obviously. Maggie, meanwhile, is an "Epic Fire" survivor who specializes in blades, mines, and burning enemies. Her signature Burning Land ability creates an expanding ring of fire that damages nearby walkers, giving her a completely different approach to combat. As for the game itself, Aftermath is a free-to-play roguelite survival action game, with intense battles against dangerous walker hordes, and with camp management and character progression as well. Players can also recruit characters like Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne, upgrade equipment, gather resources, and strengthen their settlements. Regular updates have introduced a ton of new content since launch, including a competitive Rivals mode. So far, The Walking Dead: Aftermath has been a relatively big success among players. As of early November, the game has a 4.6/5 rating on Google Play, with roughly 50,000 reviews and more than a million downloads, while the App Store has it listed with a 4.8/5 rating from roughly 5k ratings. Fans can download and play Aftermath on Android smartphones and tablets, iPhone, and iPad, while Google Play also lists Windows PC availability. Noteably, both mobile versions feature optional in-app purchases, but the game is technically free.
