On Thursday, Netflix and AMC announced a multi-year deal to keep TV series The Walking Dead — all 177 episodes — streaming on Netflix and to bring it to new territories, including the U.K., Italy, Australia, and New Zealand. The deal is reportedly worth $500 million — if you want to know where your Netflix subscription fees are going. Netflix has also secured streaming rights to multiple The Walking Dead spinoffs, including Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, The Walking Dead: World Beyond and Tales of The Walking Dead will come to Netflix globally starting in 2027. In total, Netflix has locked down 371 episodes of Walking Dead shows. As part of the deal, The Walking Dead will also start streaming on AMC Plus, AMC's streaming service. The Walking Dead has been streaming exclusively on Netflix in the U.S. since 2011. The original The Walking Dead premiered on AMC on Oct. 31, 2010, and ran for 177 episodes across 11 seasons. AMC first spun off the series in 2015 with Fear the Walking Dead, which premiered on Aug. 23, 2015, and ran for eight seasons. AMC is still producing two shows in the universe, The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the latter of which is set to conclude with a fourth and final season set to premiere in 2027. "Audiences have discovered and loved The Walking Dead on Netflix for nearly 15 years and the show continues to attract new fans," said Lori Conkling, vice president of licensing at Netflix in a statement.
