Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3, episode 7!The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3 is about to wrap up. The season 3 finale trailer has arrived, which shows Maggie and Negan working together amid a tense final battle. Dead City season 3 delivered a shocking twist in its penultimate episode, when Dillard killed Renata for getting in the way of his vendetta against Negan. While the former antagonist escaped alongside Maggie and Hershel, Dillard took control of the hospital community, giving Maggie an ultimatum: bring him Negan, or people would start dying. This includes Luis, the hospital's doctor and Renata's brother. Now, AMC has released a new trailer for Dead City season 3, episode 8, teasing a tense season finale as Maggie, Negan, and Hershel enact a mission to save the people of her community from Dillard and his group. While Negan has some reservations, even asking Hershel if he's ever had to kill a person, Maggie says that nobody else is going to die under her watch. As the pair dispatch Walkers and begin sneaking through the hospital, a voiceover indicates Dillard and Negan will come face-to-face before the hour is up. Check out the full trailer below: Dead City's characters have been a core part of the show's development, especially the new heroes introduced in season 3. Dillard has always been a wild card, with his belief that he can speak to Walkers being an early red flag for how his development would go. After Negan killed two of his chained-up undead, he mutilated his face and blamed Negan for it, hoping it would push Renata into killing him. When the plan failed, Dillard killed her instead, assuming control of the community in the process. This puts Maggie and Negan in a tight spot, especially since Dillard's group is nearly a dozen strong and has access to the hospital's armory. With dozens trapped in the building, it's currently unknown how Maggie and Negan will get them out. The trailer doesn't reveal too much about their plan, either, aside from Hershel hurtling himself through a window via swinging building to building. It's also implied the show's core duo have their own way of getting in without being detected. The mission appears to be a stripped-down version of how Dead City season 2 ended, this time with Maggie and Negan on the same side of the conflict. Dillard's status as the show's final big bad means what happens in the last hour will determine whether the pair can build the future Maggie sees in Manhattan. Since Renata is dead, there's no telling what might happen to the rest of the show's original characters, and how events will play out, either in their favor, or against it. The finale is made even more intense by The Walking Dead: Dead City not having an official season 4 renewal as of writing. While there's no indication the show will end here, season 3, episode 8 will still be an ultimate turning point for the spinoff and what its future may hold. With Maggie backed into a corner and Negan on her side, she'll have to do everything she can to make her dream of a better future possible.
