‘The Traitors’ Wins Third Consecutive Reality Competition Series Emmy, Earning Clean Sweep for Second Year in a Row

Third time’s a charm for The Traitors, as the Peacock series has picked up its third-straight Emmy win for reality competition program. The Traitors won big at the 2026 Emmys, taking home all seven awards the show was nominated for at the first night of the Creative Arts ceremonies. Just like the mainstay series, Alan Cumming won his third consecutive Emmy for best reality host last Saturday night, marking another sweep for The Traitors. “I speak on behalf of all our producers who are running to the stage as though they were on a mission of The Traitors: Now they know what it feels like,” Cumming said as he accepted the award on behalf of the series. “Thank you to the Academy so much, especially thank you last week for all the love you showed us at the Creative Arts Emmys. It really means a lot and it’s really inspiring us to do better and to go bigger.” The Traitors beat out fellow nominees Dancing With The Stars, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Survivor and Top Chef. The Avengers: Doomsday actor thanked the NBUniversal and Peacock team for their support, while also shouting out his dog, Lala, “for being the perfect co-host,” and the viewers who tune in year after year. “The audience is so amazing, it is so diverse and it’s just incredible the way you all get together and watch the show together. That is so beautiful — that a show about treachery and betrayal brings people together,” he said. Cumming concluded his speech by reminding those watching the Emmys that Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day: “Finally, tonight we have received the most votes, but tomorrow is voter registration day in this country, so please make sure you are registered to. Because the time for talk is over, it is now time to vote America!” The Traitors also swept up all of the awards for which it was nominated at the 2025 Emmys last year. The only difference between the two years was the addition of more awards; the reality program picked up five awards last year, and seven at the 2026 Emmys. Heading into this year’s Emmys, The Pitt led the nominees with a total of 25 nods, followed by Hacks with 24 (which set a record for a comedy series nominations in a single year) and Widow’s Bay with 19. The 78th Emmy Awards telecast live from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles Monday night on NBC, streaming on Peacock. Mariska Hargitay served as the night’s host, after last week winning two Emmys at the Creative Arts ceremony. See the full 2026 Emmys winners list and all the dazzling red carpet looks here.
