Christmas may still be 116 days away, but parents know it is never too early to start planning their festive season shopping. This will be especially true if your child has their heart set on any of the 20 toys that experts at Argos believe will fly off the shelves this year - from retro-inspired vinyl sets that bridge the generational gap to futuristic inventions for tech-savvy tots. Many of the retailer's festive predictions will be familiar to parents, who will recognise faces from the screen, including the smash-hit K-Pop Demon Hunters movie and Toy Story 5. Classic brands such as Hot Wheels and Lego also still find a spot on the list alongside interactive toys including the £30 Peppa Pig figure that takes bike riding lessons from your child. The toy reacts to instructions from children with more than 75 sounds and phrases, and even comes with a set of bandages to heal Peppa after small falls. Argos has unveiled its annual predictions for the toys that will top children's Christmas lists this year in a highly anticipated listAnother launch likely be a hit is the set of £35 singing dolls modelled after the beloved Demon Hunters characters Rumi, Zoey and Mira from the movie that became one of Netflix's biggest successes and is even a favourite of Princess Charlotte. There's something for movie fans of all ages; toddlers who loved Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie can keep the fun going with a massive, 2ft dinosaur that automatically inflates at the press of a button. Several toys on the list are inspired by the same wave of nostalgia that has brought iPods back into fashion. This includes a £20 vinyl record player that spins and plays music from chart-topping artists, with 44 mini-records to collect. On the other end of the price scale, Lego's £150 Donkey Kong Arcade Building Set is also steeped in sentimentality as it revives the magic of the classic Eighties arcade game. Musically inclined children might ask Santa for the £50 VTech Kidi 12-In-1 Guitar Superstar that features touch-sensitive strings and light-up fret buttons for a very rock-n-roll Christmas. 'The best interactive toys are all about instant fun and encouraging kids to dive right in,' said Chantal Pearce, head of toy buying at Argos.Think a £55 toy that lets young history enthusiasts 'hatch' a prehistoric shark egg again and again by adding water to a tank. Christmas feels incomplete without a cuddly plush toy, and Argos's fuzzy, purple Flutter Monster gives its owner a space for all their feelings - big and small. The set includes note cards for children to write or draw their emotions and then tuck them away safely inside the monster's tummy. 'From movie magic and retro nostalgia to screen-free storytellers and hands-on crafting, we've curated a range that inspires imagination, supports children’s development and encourages creativity through play.' 'This year's list brings together the very best in imaginative play and innovation,' said Ms Pearce.
