Godzilla has fought countless apocalyptic creatures across seventy-two years of history. For instance, Destoroyah is a nightmare birthed from the weapon that killed the original 1954 monster, armed with micro-oxygen beams and a lethal laser horn that has sliced through Godzilla's dense armor. From deep space, SpaceGodzilla arrives with telekinetic powers and crystal fortresses and Keizer Ghidorah nearly drains the titan's life energy with gravity beams. Godzilla himself is different across every version of the King of the Monsters. Godzilla Earth reaches a height of three hundred meters, equipped with an impenetrable electromagnetic shield and an acoustic wave that pulverizes mountain ranges. In the Singular Point series, Godzilla Ultima is a higher-dimensional spacetime singularity whose presence affects the fabric of reality. In comic book lore, Godzilla in Hell's titular kaiju escapes the underworld and defeats divine beings across the most nightmarish of infernal realms. More famously, the Heisei era's Burning Godzilla reaches a nuclear core temperature that threatens to turn Earth's crust into a molten wasteland. Yet, none of these versions of Godzilla has fought and defeated as many ultra-powerful characters as Marvel's take on the King of the Monsters, whose destructive visit to the Marvel Universe has left the fate of its reality to two familiar kaiju. Godzilla Is Getting A Rematch Against Mechagodzilla And Mothra Godzilla Conquers The Multiverse #3; Written By Gerry Duggan; Art By Javier Garrón & David Curiel Godzilla gets one step closer to total domination of the Marvel multiverse when he kills most of the Avengers of Doom, but existence receives a small glimmer of hope when Miles Morales gets transported back in time to the era of the Avengers 1,000,000 BC. Odin guides Miles to the Fairies, who awaken Mothra, who resurrects Doctor Doom and the rest of his team. Now, the Avengers of Doom have Mothra and Mechagodzilla on their side, Miles has removed the symbiotes from many of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and Godzilla has gotten rid of Knull's influence. Godzilla has clashed with Mechagodzilla and Mothra multiple times before. Their only true three-way battle took place in Tokyo during the climax of 2003's Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., where a repaired Mechagodzilla teamed up with an aging Mothra and her newborn larvae to defend the city, which culminated in Mothra’s sacrificial death. Separately, Godzilla first battled Mothra decades earlier in 1964's Mothra vs. Godzilla, and the King of the Monsters' solo history against his cybernetic doppelgänger began in 1974's Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, which featured an explosive initial showdown at Mount Fuji before transitioning to a brutal final brawl in Okinawa. Godzilla's Defeat Is Already Taking Shape Getting Rid Of Knull's Influence Was The Toughest Challenge Godzilla has already wiped the floor with the Avengers of Doom once, but he was enhanced by Knull's power and supported by Knull's army of symbiote-possessed heroes and villains. Now having severed his connection to the King in Black, Godzilla will lose part of his power and fight only for survival. Knull has also lost his army, and the Avengers of Doom are almost guaranteed to receive the help of an unknown number of superpowered survivors. In short, the war against the King of the Monsters is waged on equal grounds once again, and Knull has the odds stacked against him. This turn of events is what makes the Marvel Universe's fight against Godzilla likely to end on a more optimistic note than its first encounter with Godzilla in Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, before Knull upgraded the kaiju in Godzilla: Infinity Roar. Godzilla may still be able to overpower a great number of Marvel heroes just like he did in his first crossover, but doing so while fighting Mothra and Mechagodzilla, plus potentially new opponents like 1,000,000 BC Odin, Kang the Conqueror, and Ghost Rider will definitely be a taller task.
