‘The Simpsons’ returns to ‘Fortnite’ with ‘John Wick’ crossover

The Simpsons is returning to Fortnite later today (July 30) as part of the new Reload season, alongside a John Wick crossover. The hugely popular collab saw more than 80million people log in over the course of the six-week event. Earlier this year, Epic Games confirmed The Simpsons would be returning this summer and now more details about the new crossover have been confirmed. “The Simpsons are crashing the party again, and this time they’re bringing the chaos straight to Reload,” said Epic Games. An updated version of Springfield map is playable and now hosts up to 50 players. “Springfield holds down the map rotation solo until August 3, when Elite Stronghold and Slurp Rush join back in.” A POI inspired by John Wick’s The Confidential hotel has also been added, with players receiving passive healing once inside. Proximity chat will also be enabled inside The Confidential so you can talk to enemy players. Violence is frowned upon though – if you shoot another player while inside The Confidential, you’ll become “excommunicado”. You’ll receive unlimited stamina and ammo but every other player will be gunning for you to try and claim the rare loot that excommunicado players drop. A Simpsonified John Wick will be available as one of the Reload season’s rewards. As well as the Springfield map, this season of Reload will introduce a new Ranked mode, new Map Mastery Quests and new gadget the Reload Portable Extractor. “Use it to pull a brand-new John Wick Sprite that reveals nearby enemies to you and your squad for a few seconds after you’ve knocked or eliminated an opponent. Fortnite’s collab with The Simpsons goes live later today (July 30). Recommended Speaking to NME recently, The Simpsons’ showrunner Matt Selman said collabs with Fortnite and Monopoly Go! were the spiritual successor to beloved standalone titles such as Hit & Run and The Simpsons Game. The crossovers also help “remind people that the show is still on,” he added. In other news, sci-fi adventure game Pragmata will almost definitely be getting a sequel, according to Capcom bosses.
