The Simpsons' Apu is back in Springfield after nearly a decade — with a new voice

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon made his vocal return on The Simpsons after a nearly three-year silence amid controversy over his portrayal reinforcing racial stereotypes. The character reappeared in the latest "Treehouse of Horror Presents: The Revengening" episode with a new voice actor, marking a significant shift in response to ongoing criticism. This move signifies a broader industry reckoning with representation and the importance of diverse, respectful storytelling. The return of Apu, though met with mixed reactions, underscores the ongoing dialogue about cultural sensitivity in media.
