‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 5 Has a Premiere Date—But There’s a Catch

Believe it or not, it’s only been six months since MomTok last appeared on our screens, and already, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is back for a new installment. Seeing as filming for season 4 wrapped in fall 2025, season 5 has a LOT of ground to potentially cover, including (but not limited to) Fruity Pebbles Gate, Jessi Draper’s divorce from Jordan Ngatikaura (and subsequent rekindling with Marciano Brunette), Miranda Hope’s feud with Jessi, Layla Taylor’s coming out, Jen Affleck’s fourth pregnancy, Whitney Leavitt’s Chicago run, and—of course—the cancellation of Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette. Tbh, I’m already exhausted. But while we’ll have to wait to find out what drama will be covered in season 5 (and what will be saved for the already-confirmed season 6...), here is what I do know about the latest SLOMW season. Starting with...Is The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives coming back for season 5?You betcha. Back in November 2025 (right after season 3 of the series dropped), Hulu renewed the series for 20 more episodes, which meant seasons 4 and 5 were a go. Season 4 premiered in March 2026 and—despite filming delays—SLOMW season 5 will be here before you know it.When does The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5 come out?It was just announced that season 5 will premiere on Thursday, September 10, with all episodes dropping at once...but there’s a catch. While all the previous seasons of the show have featured 10 episodes, season 5 will only feature five episodes due to the production hiatus that took place earlier this year.As a reminder: The news first broke in March that filming had temporarily paused due to a domestic assault investigation involving cast member Taylor and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette was canceled a few days later, when footage from a 2023 incident involving Dakota was leaked. As Mikayla Matthews later explained, “It was a decision that all us girls came up with and agreed on. We didn’t feel comfortable filming with everything that was happening.”It wasn’t until late April that filming resumed again...but without Taylor or Dakota.Though Demi Engemann is not expected to appear in season 5, you can expect to see the rest of MomTok, including Layla, Mikayla, Jessi, Jen, Miranda, Mayci, and Whiteny—though unfortunately, Whitney has already confirmed that this will be her last season on the show.As for Taylor: While she will appear in season 5, it will be in a limited capacity. But how about for future seasons? According to TMZ, “The network is holding casting cards close to the vest,” so her status on the Hulu series is currently unknown amid her legal drama. What happens in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5? Again, it’s unclear how much of the above ^^^ will be covered, but here’s the official synopsis:After two wild years, #MomTok is hotter than hell, but will friendships and dreams go up in flames? Taylor returns from The Bachelorette with unfinished business, an old temptation, and the pressure of life in the public eye. Whitney debuts on Broadway in New York City as tensions back home chase her. Back in Utah, the limits of loyalty are tested as fame, secrets, and backlash threaten #MomTok—with every blowup making headlines. As the heat threatens to burn the sisterhood, have they finally flown too close to the sun? With rumors spiraling and the public demanding answers, the sisterhood starts to crack, and #MomTok must decide what—and who—it’s willing to sacrifice. Is there a trailer for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5?Indeed!
