The £2,000,000 doomsday bunkers complete with swimming pools, jail cells and sniper posts

At the dawn of the decade we lived through the Covid-19 pandemic, but now countries are being warned of a ‘danger zone of extreme weather’ byUN head António Guterres, which could potentially ‘deliver a massive blow to communities and economies across the world’, according to WMO Secretary-General Celeste Saulo. The UK government is even preparing a publicity campaign which will tell households to prepare for extreme weather events or cyber attacks. But amidst all this uncertainty, Kansas is actually exactly where you want to be, specifically at the Atlas ‘F’ Missile Silo, aka the Survival Condo. It’s one of the only 72 missile bases built by the US Army Corps of Engineers in the 1960s, which were built to withstand nuclear explosions at the cost of what would be about £114million today. Re-developed by Larry Hill, the 54,000sqft underground bunker is now a luxury underground survival complex for ultra-wealthy families looking to live through any Doomsday event in comfort and style. Up to 75 people can survive there for around five years without any difficulties, and they’re spoiled with everything you could possibly need, apart from sunlight. But it’s not just about survival, it’s about leisure. They also have to be well-behaved and quiet, which might be the bigger problem. Pets must be up-to-date on their shots, too, and be fully bathed and dipped prior to entering the facility. There’s a cinema, classroom and library, a gym, a pub and games room, as well as a security centre and online and offline internet. There’s even a jail for anyone acting up underground, and a sniper post above ground to defend the bunker from those who aren’t lucky enough to live there. The military-grade security includes non-lethal and deadly weapons. Living quarters There are two types of residential condos available, a full-floor 1,820sqft layout at £2.2million which houses up to 10 people, or a half-floor 900sqft layout for £1.1million which houses up to five. Each residential unit comes with a five-year supply of freeze-dried and dehydrated survival food per person. Users can access internet and there’s a security and communications room (Picture: Survival Condo) A full-floor unit offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining room, kitchen and living room with a big screen TV. You’ll also have a washing machine and dryer, as well as a jetted jacuzzi bath tub. You can control your own outdoor ‘simulated view’ windows which you can set to a log-cabin or city view, as if you were above ground. But to keep the unit, you’ll need to pay tens of thousands of dollars worth of maintenance fees each year. There doesn’t need to be an apocalypse to enjoy your purchase though, as you can access the facility any time you like. In the event of an emergency there are three top-secret contingency plans to get you to your underground apartment at the complex. You’ll need an on-site feasibility study but if it passes the test, you can have your own bunker up to 300,000sqft in size. This could include a bowling alley, gym, golf simulator, arcade and cinema, as well as the usual living quarters, completely designed to your personal taste. Naturally, for most of earth’s population purchasing a condo isn’t feasible, although the company revealed it gets thousands of requests from civilians who have skills that are crucial to the operation or maintenance of the facility, asking if they can live there for free or at a discount.
