‘The Odyssey’ Slays ‘Jurassic World’ To Become Universal’s Highest Grossing Movie Ever At Global Box Office With $1.68B

By the end of this weekend, The Odyssey will have crushed the ultimate record, becoming Universal‘s highest grossing movie ever at the global box office with $1..684 billion. The pic will sail above Universal’s previous record-breaker, 2015’s Jurassic World which ended its run at $1.677 billion. By Sunday, The Odyssey will count $601.2M million domestic and $1.083 billion international becoming the 12th highest-grossing film ever and the third-biggest non-franchise title of all time. The Odyssey experienced an amazing 6.33x multiple at the global box office and returned to the No. 1 position globally in its eighth weekend, dropping only 9% domestically. In addition to this global milestone, The Odyssey is also the highest-grossing Universal Pictures film of all time in 45 international markets, including Australia, France, Italy, India and Korea. The Odyssey remains the second-highest grossing Universal Pictures film domestically behind Jurassic World ($653.4M). Universal continues to lead all major studios with more than $4.92 billion to-date. The studio was the first to cross $4 billion at the global box office this year and the first to cross $3 billion at the international box office.
