And now, Gillian Anderson’s collection of women’s sexual fantasies, ‘More’, has revealed that women do indeed long to be miniature. A woman in her 20s wrote: ‘In my fantasy I’m small enough to be held entirely in one of my partner’s hands. They brush their thumb over my torso, applying just enough pressure to make me breathless. ‘They bring my body carefully to their lips and swallow me to my waist. I feel their teeth across my stomach – never enough to hurt, but the threat is always there. ‘As their tongue – too big, clumsy and perfect – laps between my legs, I’m enveloped in soft warmth.
