The Last Of Us Part 2 DLC Officially Released

Published Nov 5, 2026, 6:41 AM EST James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC. The Last of Us has done a remarkable job of remaining relevant as a franchise without any new releases confirmed, especially considering the last game came out some six years ago at this point. The HBO adaptation is obviously a big part of that, but the fascination with the games remains, and there are millions out there who are desperate to see a third game come along at some point. Naughty Dog is very much focused on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet for the foreseeable future, with that game not expected to drop until at least the back end of next year, if not 2028. That said, they haven't forgotten about the stealth series that elevated the studio to a whole new level, and the developer continues to maintain both games with updates and fresh releases. Now, the latest of those is now live, and it includes a very fun set of cosmetics that could make your next run considerably more stylish than usual. Over on Twitter/X, the official page for The Last of Us shared a post confirming the release of two outfits for The Last of Us Part II Remastered, available to those who pass a certain milestone. The post reads as follows: "Players who complete The Last of Us Part II Remastered's Chronological mode can unlock two No Return skins inspired by Uncharted: a Nathan Drake outfit for Joel and a Sam Drake outfit for Tommy. Available via Patch v2.1.0 (PS5) and Patch v1.5 (PC)." As the name suggests, the Chronological Mode is an official free game mode (released via Patch 2.1.0 on PS5 and Patch 1.5 on PC) that restructures the game's non-linear narrative into a strict, step-by-step linear order. That means you'll be pretty much constantly flashing back between the events of Ellie and Abby, which actually does provide a much clearer avenue to understanding what happened and when. While it isn't the superior way to play the game, it is an interesting alternative for those who have already played through the game as intended. It also further underlines just how close they come to each other at times, and gives players a new appreciation of just how high the stakes are for both. You will need both an active internet connection and a PSN account (if you're on console) to get the outfits downloaded, though they should automatically appear in your collection options once you have met the requirements. As for the series itself, it's a safe bet that The Last of Us won't be entirely done for a long time to come yet. Though Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann haven't gone as far as giving us confirmation that The Last of Us III is in production, they have previously confirmed that they are actively working on other projects in the same universe. Those could end up being spin-offs, but as long as the games tell similar stories, it's difficult to see a world where fans would care too much, given how patient they have been so far. It centers around survivors in a world ravaged by a fungal infection turning humans into aggressive creatures.
