Sign in to your TheGamer account Today, Nintendo fans were met with a wide array of game announcements, including ports, new releases, and surprising updates to fan-favorite games. While it has been a great few days to be a Nintendo fan, the same can't exactly be said for those hoping for an announcement regarding the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. While it would be a bit odd for KOTOR to appear at a Nintendo showcase of all things, the fact that we didn't get the leaked new reveal that was reported months ago is a major disappointment given the significance of today's date. We Still Know Painfully Little About KOTOR's Remake As noted by Daily Star Wars Games on X, today officially marks the fifth anniversary since the Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic remake was announced, and despite having waited over half a decade for the project, we still know painfully little about the experience. With the only official development updates being annual reassurance that the project is still in development, the fact that there hasn't been a single screenshot, gameplay reveal, or even another pre-rendered cinematic to keep fans enticed is more than a little concerning. Although GTA 6 set a new record for how delayed its gameplay reveal was, the KOTOR remake doesn't even have a release window for fans to look forward to. Even though it isn't too surprising that KOTOR's remake developers don't have much to share considering how many roadblocks and upsets the project had during the early stages of development, which included moving it to an entirely new development studio with Saber Interactive, the lack of even a mention during the announcement's anniversary is a bit disconcerting. Having its rumored release date continually pushed back, and now speculated to release in 2028 at the earliest, there's also the growing likelihood that Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic's official sequel with Fate Of The Old Republic might even end up releasing before the remake project, Released July 15, 2003 ESRB T for Teen: Violence Developer(s) BioWare Publisher(s) LucasArts Engine Odyssey Engine Franchise Star Wars
