Created by Downton Abbey's Julian Fellowes, The Gilded Age debuted in 2022 and is set in the late 1800s and centers on two feuding families, the van Rhijns and the Russells, that each come from different sectors of New York City's elite class, a battle between old and new money. After three seasons, the historical drama is coming back for its fourth season this November. During a wide-ranging interview with Deadline, Bloys called The Gilded Age season 4 "excellent," adding that he is currently talking with production "about what a fifth season would look like." Star Morgan Spector, who plays George Russell, is currently filming Netflix's The Secret of Secrets, an upcoming TV adaptation of the Dan Brown novel, which could create some scheduling conflicts between the two series. Bloys said that HBO will "try to work around" that project. "It's a big cast, and they're a very busy cast," he acknowledged. "Hopefully, we can work around everybody's schedule because I think everybody loves making it." More to come...
