‘The Gentleman’ Returns To 45% Audience Decline For Season 2 Debut On Netflix

September 8, 2026 12:14pm Misan Harriman/ The Gentleman has returned to Netflix for a second season, and similar to many of the streamer’s continuing series lately, it couldn’t quite attract the same audience it did with Season 1. Season 2 of The Gentleman, which debuted September 3, tallied 6.7 million views in its first four days of availability. That put it at No. 3 on Netflix’s English TV list from August 31 to September 6. The series is facing nearly a 50% audience decline in its opening weekend versus Season 1’s premiere viewership. The Gentleman has already been renewed for a third season. Speaking of the first season, that was back in the weekly Top 10 rankings as well at No. 5 with 3.2 million views. While Season 2 didn’t necessarily make a huge splash on the streamer in its debut weekend, these numbers could keep the series middling on the rankings for several weeks. Watch on Deadline The English TV list was led once again by Death of a Pastor’s Wife with 13.9 million views. Season 3 of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black kept the No. 2 spot on the list with 8 million views. Season 5 of Outer Banks continued to sputter at No. 4 with 3.3 million views, while No. 6 went to Netflix’s new Instadocs: The Decoy Plane documentary with 2.9 million views.
