It wasn't just one of the most celebrated shonen anime of all time when it was running, it also helped set the blueprint for the entire genre going forward. By the '90s, it became an international success, and the ongoing book was written from there with countless movies, TV shows, and gaming projects all combining to give Dragon Ball fans constant entertainment. Even though new iterations of shows might be few and far between, there's always something else to latch onto. Thanks to an official announcement from a Dragon Ball X account, we know what's coming next for the series. While Dragon Ball XenoVerse 3 is still a way out and due in 2027, Bandai Namco has been bringing the game to tradeshows in full force, and showing off just what they have planned for the third game in this long-running trilogy. The latest bit of news deals with the number of playable races in the game: "For the first time, choose the NEW Android race and create an Avatar unlike any other in Dragon Ball XenoVerse 3! With 6 unique races, 130 characters to learn from, and endless ways to customize your fighting style, build the ultimate fighter your way." Naturally, fans are pumped by the idea of more customization this time around: "Yeah, this is why we should always wait for more stuff to come out the same demo gameplay you’ve been seeing I can see there was a hint of depth and like the customization, but they didn’t show enough. This is honestly great and a big big evolution for the series this is crazy." Others are hoping for more options to be added before launch. Some fans are pointing out that Androids aren't exactly new to the series, albeit in different forms: "People acting like Androids hasn't been a playable race for Dragon Ball Heroes for years. Most of the games were exclusive to Japan, but World Mission is worldwide. And it has had playable Androids, Kais, and Demons. And if you get the arcade, we get playable God of Destruction." Others aren't happy that demons are seemingly excluded: "No demon race is genuinely crushing...why wave around a demon character in my face with a unique transformation just for it to be gatekept so we can have humans 1.5." No matter how well the character creation tool works out, there's still plenty of ground to cover with Dragon Ball XenoVerse 3. Maybe we'll see a decade of DLC like its predecessor.
