The First ‘VisionQuest’ Promo Introduces a New Family Member

It was only a few weeks ago that VisionQuest marketing really started. While we’ve known from the start the show would see the whiter version of Paul Bettany’s android try make sense of his life post-WandaVision, the miniseries has mostly pushed inner demons like Ultron sticking around in Vizh’s head. There’s external threats for Vision to go up against, with the promo below offering a decent look at one of them: Jocasta. Created by Jim Shooter and George Pérez, Jocasta first appeared in 1977’s Avengers #162. Like how Vision is his son, Ultron built Jocasta to be his wife, with the Wasp’s brain patterns serving as her template. (Remember, Ant-Man created Ultron in the comics using his own brain patterns.) Over the decades, the gynoid has flipped from being a villain to an Avenger and sometimes ally of Iron Man. As played by T’Nia Miller, VisionQuest marks Jocasta’s MCU debut. How does she exist in either the real world or Vision’s own mind palace? That’s the big question, as is who she’d be based on when in the MCU, Ultron is created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. It seems answers will have to wait until the show’s first two episodes hit Disney+ on October 14, with future episodes airing on a weekly schedule. Want more io9 news?
