The Eventide Is A Mystery Game Made By Mass Effect And Dragon Age Devs

Former Mass Effect, Dragon Age Devs Reveal Their New Game, The Eventide Published Jul 29, 2026, 11:00 AM EDT Sign in to your TheGamer account Studio Reset was formed earlier this year by three game devs, all with experience at BioWare. This made them the latest studio formed by Mass Effect and Dragon Age talent, moving away from EA after it gutted their old studio and mostly kept its franchises on ice. Now, Studio Reset is ready to reveal a game of its own. The Eventide is described as a “supernatural mystery game” with a neon-noir setting, and boasts a gameplay mechanic that sees us take on the mystery from multiple perspectives. The Eventide Is A Mystery Game That's Told Differently Depending On Which Agents You Send Out The Eventide uses a system that Studio Reset calls “Parallax Deduction”. This refers to the “perspective-driven approach” we’ll take when investigating the mystery, as we choose which agents to send out into the field. Results will differ based on who we decide should tackle the case. “One investigator may read a scene through science and biology,” the announcement reads. “Another may understand the human contradictions behind a witness statement. Another may sense emotional or psychic traces no one else can perceive.” We’re told that there is “a growing roster” of agents we can send out two at a time. Three have been revealed today. Evelyn “Eve” Atwood, The Cryptozoologist: “patient, methodical, and deeply discerning, Eve grounds supernatural phenomena in material evidence, systems, and biology.” Sam “Brass” Hingle, The Former Detective: “pragmatic, affable, and hard to fool, Brass reads people, motives, and social dynamics better than anyone in the room.” Kira, The [REDACTED]: “quiet, observant, and difficult to explain, Kira perceives latent psychic and emotional energies that others may never notice.” “With The Eventide, we wanted to build a mystery game where solving a case is not just about finding clues,” says producer and creative director, Kaelin Lavallee. “It is about experiencing the cases through the characters’ perspective to understand what those clues mean.” The Eventide is currently in development for PC, with no console port mentioned at this stage. We have no idea when Studio Reset is expecting The Eventide to be ready, but you can wishlist it on Steam now. This is far from the only project that we’ve seen come from former BioWare devs. Summerfall Studios gave us Stray Gods in 2023, and Archetype is currently working on Exodus.
