Dawn gets set to strike (Picture: ITV) There are many people wanting to see Emmerdale’s Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) dead, but only one of them is holding a gun. His behaviour is always pretty abysmal (let’s not forget the kidney theft) and now he’s being blamed for attacking Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle). Billy was attacked in the depot and left for dead, waking up days later from a coma and with the threat of brain damage. Despite being attacked from behind, after a conversation with Caleb (Will Ash), he named his attacker – Joe Tate. Joe was questioned by police but ultimately released as there was no evidence – in a coincidence the CCTV seemed to go down at the exact moment Billy was knocked out. Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) is horrified to discover her fiancé’s latest transgression, despite him protesting he didn’t do it. Who to believe?! It’s particularly bad given that she’s on the cusp of becoming his wife and having his baby. So now it’s time for her to get out. She and Billy have been plotting an escape and decide Joe’s stag do is the absolute perfect time to do it as he’ll be too busy to notice them doing a flit. Ruby (Beth Cordingly) has known the truth all along, that Kev (Chris Coghill) is Billy’s true attacker. He had shot up to the depot after hearing of his friend Steve’s plan to do the place over, and when interrupted by Billy, he grabbed a crowbar. Ruby saw it was Kev on the CCTV and deleted it to frame Joe. Fair, given that her husband is down an organ thanks to Joe. Dawn thinks about getting rid of Joe (Picture: ITV) Actor Chris Coghill tells Metro that he thinks he’s just given Billy a little ‘love tap’ and that he should jump straight back up. ‘Kev thinks he’s just given him a little love tap, just to stop him in his tracks, but it’s a bit more serious than that,’ he said. The guy doesn’t know his own strength! Will Ash also tells us that though he wants to see Joe dead, he doesn’t want to do it himself, so is more than happy to orchestrate this whole situation. ‘[Caleb] realises that he’s not going to be able to kill [Joe], but that he can ruin his life, so that’s what he tries to do with his relationship with Dawn. He figures out that it’s the thing Joe loves the most, and he sees the happiness that he has there, but he wants to decimate that. It’s always going to come from that.’ Is this the end for Joe Tate? (Picture: ITV) Cripes. Joe is innocent, but so far, no one has told Dawn. She still plans to leg it, but her plan to escape goes awry when Joe changes his stag do plans and makes it a Sten, expecting Dawn to be present. He’s arranged a clay pigeon shoot. When Caleb learns of this situation, he realises danger is afoot and tries to get hold of everyone involved but cannot. Dawn is so fearful of Joe, coupled with the fact her escape opportunity has been thwarted, she comes up with a new plan on the spot. Faced with the opportunity and a weapon, Dawn acts on instinct by grabbing the gun and aiming at her husband-to-be. She is ready to shoot, and Billy is terrified to realise what Dawn is capable of.
