For a long, long while, The Elder Scrolls had an incredible run. 1994's Arena made waves in the PC community, and by the time Morrowind came out, console fans could join the party. The legend of TES grew, and Oblivion brought even more fans into the series (as well as horse armor), leading directly into a sleek five-year gap that gave us Skyrim. Since 2011, Bethesda has been riding high on that game alone, porting it to every platform under the sun, and re-releasing it everywhere. While we're still waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6 to wow us, the series is officially switching genres, according to a new Gamefound update. Shadows Of Oblivion Looks Impressive Back in 2025, Chip Theory Games ran a campaign for the next phase of The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era, their massive tabletop version of The Elder Scrolls universe. It's called "Heroes of Tamriel," and consists of five expansions, including Shadows of Oblivion. Shadows takes on a somewhat underrepresented element of some Elder Scrolls adaptations: Daedric Princes. You'll pick up a deck of blessings and curses to use in the base game, plus enemy chips, a new hedonism mechanic, and extra skill dice (plus a bag to hold them). Here's what you can expect lore-wise from the expansion: "The Daedric princes rule their respective planes of Oblivion, and their influence over mortals cannot be understated. Whether summoned to Tamriel for worship or study, these entities of great power will frequently strike deals and make pacts with those who dare. Such a bargain is laced with poison and sure to bring misery, but a serious adventurer doesn't dismiss any potential advantage, and the prospect of wielding Daedric power is intoxicating." All of this is backed by the staggeringly large deluxe storage option, a Kallax-friendly box that fits the base game and multiple expansions, offering a magnetic drawer key, region trays, token holders, and multiple drawers. By the time that hits, four other expansions will arrive as well: Summerset, Elsweyr, Fur & Fang, and Heroes of Tamriel. Shadows Of Oblivion Is Coming Soon As for updates, everything seems to be shipping out this Fall. Chip Theory Games calls it the "biggest fulfillment of any project in [their] history," so it's going to be a massive endeavor to ship everything worldwide. A big reason is the Guilt Vault box size, which has created shipping complications. The logistics are staggering: Chip Theory is sending out 34 ocean freight containers worldwide, and with manufacturing "almost entirely complete," the objective now is to get everything on boats for shipment. For USA delivery, containers will start arriving from mid-October through the end of the month, and then they'll need to be shipped from there. Multiple fulfillment centers will handle these orders depending on where you live, and the full unboxing of all the components is a sight to see. If you picked up this newest The Elder Scrolls release on Gamefound, it'll ship imminently. If you haven't, look for it at your local gaming store; it should hit some retail spots before the end of the year.
