The Conjuring: Unspoken Arrives Next Week On Netflix

Published Oct 6, 2026, 4:55 PM EDT Ben Brosofsky has been writing for Screen Rant since 2022 and editing since 2024. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's in Cinema & Media Arts. Writing serves as a much-needed distraction from tackling a backlog of Steam games that will never be surmounted. Sign in to your ScreenRant account The Conjuring was one of the biggest hits of 2010s horror, and it didn't take long to turn that success into a massive media franchise. Since the release of the first film, three more movies have directly borne the Conjuring name, and the Annabelle and The Nun spin-off movies fleshed out the lore even further. It's only been a year since the release of The Conjuring: Last Rites, but the franchise is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. While the next release on Netflix isn't a new feature film, it might not be that far off, and it should still be of interest to loyal fans. Today, Netflix shared a YouTube trailer for The Conjuring: Unspoken, a new game that's set to release on Netflix on October 13. The title was developed by Supermassive Games, a studio that made its name through interactive horror experiences like Until Dawn and The Quarry. While those games were built more on the tropes of teen horror movies, The Conjuring: Unspoken leans into the paranormal investigation that the series is known for. This time, the haunted site in question is the Red Lion Inn, a centuries-old establishment in England that's reported to be haunted. In-game, a demonologist named Francesca Noakes will use ghost-hunting tools to scan the surroundings for spirits. In real life, this plays out by using a phone to control these tools, while the action of the game will play out on the TV. Netflix's ventures into the gaming space have been a mixed bag, but The Conjuring: Unspoken feels like it's actually leaning into the platform's advantages. Supermassive Games has plenty of practice making games that feel like interactive movies, and using a phone as a controller makes a lot of sense in this particular context. Of course, some fans would likely prefer it if they could play on a traditional gaming console, but that might never have been on the table for this particular project. The big question is whether Unspoken will manage to live up to The Conjuring name, which is admittedly an easier task now than it was ten years ago. While the first two films in the franchise received strong reviews from critics and audiences alike, The Devil Made Me Do It and Last Rites were met with weaker receptions. The spin-offs, meanwhile, have been all over the place, with Annabelle and The Nun sequels actually reviewing better than their original entries. Hopefully, The Conjuring: Unspoken will be a step in the right direction rather than a continuation of a downward trend. Whatever the case, fans with Netflix subscriptions won't have to wait long to find out, as the game releases in only a week.
